Second Semester
- Advanced Topics in Networks (ATN), Dr. Nicola Sambo, 20h
- Laboratory of Network Software (LabNS), Dr. Alessio Giorgetti, 30h
Descrizione
English Description
The course is divided in three modules. The first module, Network Management Systems (NMS), introduces the fundamentals of network management techniques. The second module, Advanced Topics in Networks (ATN), is focused on optical transport networks and control plane. Finally, the third module, Laboratory of Network Software (LabNS), introduces the utilization of a commercial software (OPNET Modeler) enabling communication network simulation. In this third module the students will have the opportunity of implementing the network architectures, the protocols, and the management techniques learned in the previous module.

Modalità di esame
Each module requires an independent examination. The whole course “Reti e Tecnologie per le Telecomunicazioni (RTT)” is passed when the examination of all the three modules is accomplished.
The three modules adopt the following examination methodologies.
NMS: multiple choice test
ATN: oral discussion
LabNS: OPNET project with report, oral discussion
